Entrance test for Foundation Course of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India will be held in June, 2015. Examinations of intermediate and final course is also going to be conducted in the month of June and its result will be declared after two months of examination. Approximately 40,000 students appeared last year for this examination conducted in December and June months. Equal number of students are expected for the current year as well.
Minimum age for admission to Foundation Course is 17 years and 18 years for Intermediate course. Standard-12 pass is the qualification for Foundation and Graduation degree for Intermediate. For this degree course, fees for oral and post Foundation Course is Rs.3,500/- whereas it is Rs.19,700/- for Oral Course of Intermediate and for postal, it is Rs.15,700/-.
Students do present in classroom at center in oral course of ICAI. As in any ordinary college, classes of all the subjects are being conducted. 75% of the ICAI students opt for oral whereas only 25% opt for postal course. In postal course, students are provided with practice material initially so that they need not to attend classes at the center.
There are four question papers of 100 marks each with one hour duration which include subjects of Organization and Management Fundamental, Accounting, Economics and Business Fundamental and Business Mathematic and Statistics Fundamental. To qualify said test, scoring 40% marks in each paper and aggregate of 50% marks is necessary.
