Sub-officers course for 33 weeks is being conducted at National Fire Service College, Nagpur (Maharashtra) for 24 vacancies. Training is to be obtained for 21 weeks at college and 12 weeks at big fire stations of the country. Indian Banks Association is a central voluntary body of all the nationalized banks of India. IBA, in association with Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has taken very important decision in the interest of candidates in respect of the recruitment procedure for banks. Under this proposed system, now the IBPS will conduct written test twice a year and shall issue score cards to the candidates according to their performance. For these tests, the candidates shall have to wait for advertisement as and when get released by IBPS. The bank which will be in need of recruitment, shall issue its own advertisement notifying requirements of age, educational qualification, number of posts etc. The candidate shall have to apply to the respective bank in pursuance thereof by attaching copy of the score card as has been issued by the IBPS to him/her. In short, no bank will henceforth go for their own written test separately. The bank will decide on its own about the cut-off score for calling candidates for interview, group discussions etc. This new system has been implemented w.e.f 1st June, 2011.
State Bank of India has not participated in this proposed system therefore, Score Card issued by IBPS shall not be valid so far as State Bank is concerned. Validity of the score card being issued by the IBPS shall be for one year.
